Two gently sloping fields, a sheltered pod meadow behind the gorse, and a gate at the bottom that opens straight onto the coast path. Everything below is a two-minute walk from any pitch.

Out the gate

12 min walk
A mile of pale sand through our bottom gate — dogs welcome all year on the southern stretch.

25 min drive · or a famous walk
The ruin on the headland. Walk to it from Craster past the kippers smokehouse.

10 min drive to Seahouses
Puffins April to July, seals all season. Book the morning sailing; it’s calmer.

15 min walk into the village
Our local. Crab sandwiches, a good garden, and they don’t mind sandy boots.
We came for two nights and stayed six. The kids found the den wood on day one and we barely saw them.
Cleanest shower block we’ve met in thirty years of touring. And you wake up to the sea. That’s it, that’s the review.
The pod was warmer than our house. Swam in the pond every morning, bakery croissant after. Booked again for May.
This season
The wild swimming pond is open — and the bakery's doing sausage rolls again.
